The first “Fleet Week” in Houston will be held in April — five months after it was originally scheduled.
The roving event, which honors the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard, was initially slated for Nov. 5-12, 2025 in Houston. But it was postponed because of the federal government shutdown, which was the longest in U.S. history before ending Nov. 13.
The first Fleet Week in Houston – and for the state of Texas – has been rescheduled for April 15-22, City of Houston officials announced this week. The event is expected to bring more than 1,000 Marines, Navy sailors and members of the Coast Guard to the region, where a series of celebrations and experiences, such as ship tours, are planned.

If held in November, Fleet Week would have coincided with the 250th birthdays of both the Marine Corps and Navy. It will now coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding.
The City of Houston and Port of Houston are among the entities collaborating to host Fleet Week.
