Just in time for Valentine’s Day, one of Philly’s most popular improv traditions is back. An Improvised Rom-Com returns February 13–15, 2025, bringing laughter, love, and total unpredictability to the stage at Plays & Players Theatre (1714 Delancey Place).
Produced by Philly’s star-studded improvised movie-making crew Not Yet Rated, this annual hit transforms the familiar tropes of romantic comedies into a completely original story created on the spot. With nothing but audience suggestions and their own quick wit, the cast builds a full rom-com narrative live—no script, no props, and absolutely no idea where the story will end up. Expect all the classic characters you love from the genre: hopeless romantics, lovable klutzes, emotionally unavailable players, uptight bosses, journalists on assignment, and free spirits chasing love in all the wrong (and sometimes right) places. Every performance is entirely unique, unfolding like a movie premiere that’s never been seen—and will never be seen again.
