Many North Texans are likely rejoicing this weekend at the return of chillier temperatures.
A cold front moved in Friday night on the heels of scattered showers, dropping the high down from 80 degrees earlier in the week to a perfectly normal 56. The temperature should stay in a similar place on Sunday, with an overnight low of 36 degrees in between, before warming up slightly next week.
Friday’s rain was the most significant showers Dallas had received in over a month, with about a quarter of an inch of rain falling at Dallas Love Field. The rain didn’t reach DFW International Airport, though, the official climate location for the region.
After Friday’s rain, the skies are expected to be mostly clear for the next week. Winds are expected to be stronger during the day on Saturday, but should die down on Sunday.
