KERRVILLE, Texas – The San Antonio Fire Department has been assisting with rescue and recovery efforts in Kerrville and surrounding areas, where devastating floods have upended families and claimed over 100 lives.

In a statement released Tuesday, SAFD shared that its boat teams encountered a life-threatening situation in the early morning hours of July 4.

According to the department, two SAFD tow vehicles and trailers were swept away by powerful floodwaters. Fortunately, all personnel involved escaped safely and without injury.
