HPD said the club wasn’t even approved to be occupied since October.

HOUSTON — Early Saturday morning, Houston police conducted a raid on what they’re calling an after-hours club in west Houston.

The raid happened around 3:40 a.m. at a club on S Gessner Road just north of the Westpark Tollway.

According to the Houston Police Department, the building wasn’t authorized to be occupied due to multiple issues noted by the fire marshal’s office, including several electrical hazards. HPD said it hasn’t been approved to be occupied since October.

They also said they’ve received numerous complaints about the club.

Police said the club operated as a normal club up until 2 a.m., when it turns into an after-hours club.

HPD said they believe there have been several accidents involving people who had left this club intoxicated. They said at least one of those crashes was deadly.

In addition to the drunk driving concerns, police said there have been several shootings in or around the club’s parking lot.

Three people were detained at the scene. It wasn’t immediately clear what charges they may face.
