Lindsay served 20 years as county judge and one term in the Texas Senate

HOUSTON – Former Harris County Judge and Texas state senator Jon Lindsay has died, according to a statement released by a former colleague, Commissioner Rodney Ellis.
Lindsay devoted decades of his life to public service, serving 20 years as Harris County Judge and one term representing the community in the Texas Senate. He was widely regarded as a respected statesman who earned bipartisan admiration throughout his career.
Among his most lasting accomplishments was the creation of the Harris County Toll Road Authority, a project credited with shaping the region’s transportation infrastructure and supporting continued growth across the county.

Ellis described Lindsay as a “true statesman and gentleman,” noting that his leadership fostered both respect and friendships on both sides of the aisle.
“His accomplishments will continue to positively affect Harris County for years to come,” Ellis’ statement read.
Lindsay is survived by his family, who were remembered in the statement as the community mourns his passing.
