SAN ANTONIO – Two people are recovering after a pistol-whipping attack left one person beaten and another with a gunshot wound.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the scene of a reported shooting near the corner of Perrin Beitel and Gate Crest.

When police arrived, they found one victim with various blunt-force injuries to their face, and a second victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the cheek.

The victim with the gunshot wound to the face was rushed to the hospital for their injuries, which were said to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators say that the suspect and the first victim got into an argument, and the suspect pulled out a handgun and began pistol-whipping the first victim.

During that attack, the gun fired, and a person who hadn’t been involved in the altercation was shot through the cheek.

Police say the suspect was taken into custody at the scene. This is a developing story.
