SAN ANTONIO – A major crash along a busy downtown highway left a luxury vehicle heavily damaged.
The incident took place early Sunday morning around 4:39 a.m., when SAPD officer were called to a single-vehicle accident on the northbound IH-37 south off-ramp to westbound IH-10 East. Police say a 24-year-old white male was driving a BMW when the car struck a guardrail, causing significant damage.
When SAPD arrived at the scene, the driver had taken off on foot. Police located and apprehended the suspect a short distance away. It was during the arrest that officers allegedly found the suspect with drugs.
The male was charged with possession of narcotics and evading arrest on foot. No additional injuries were reported.
