Houston – A Houston police officer shot and killed a suspect this afternoon in the Kashmere Gardens area.
According to HPD, officers responded to a call for a suspicious person with a weapon on Wayne Street around 2:15 p.m.
HPD Commanders and PIO are en route to an officer involved shooting at 4814 Wayne St.

HPD tells KPRC that the suspect died at the scene.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
KPRC has a crew at the scene and will have the latest information today at 5 p.m.
