Initial reactions and Observations
- What. A. Match. Bayern started the game well but slowly got into it as the game progressed and absolutely decimate Wolfsburg.
- Michael Olise and Luis Diaz are strong contenders for MotM. Best €125 million ever spent.
- Felipe Chavez made his debut today! What a moment for the young lad.
- The last time that Bayern scored eight in one match was…that night in Lisbon.
We’ve got Köln in midweek coming up so come join us for that and for the Champions League match against Union Saint-Gilloise.

90’ — We’ve got six minutes of added time, is another goal on the cards?
88’ — TOR! That’s a massive howler from the Wolfsburg defence.
76’ — TOR! Stop that, Michael Olise. The Frenchman is slipped in by Luis Diaz and finishes with his weaker right foot.
69’ — TOR! There’s no stopping Bayern! Harry Kane gets a goal of his own after Wolfsburg give the ball away.
68’ — TOR! Raphael Guerreiro taps the ball in after a pass from Harry Kane.
66’ — Manuel Neuer with a massive save to deny Wolfsburg a second goal.
64’ — Luis Diaz does great to set up Olise but his finesse shot hits the post and out.
53’ — TOR! A long ball over the top finds Olise, who beats his man and crosses for Luis Diaz to tap into the net!
Edit: It was credited as an own goal by Moritz Jenz.
50’ — TOR! Michael Olise cuts inside, dribbles along the edge of the box, and curls the ball on the far post and scores Bayern’s third. Le Cut Inside Man would be proud.
47’ — Jonathan Tah lays the ball off to Tom Bischof who shoots it just wide of the far post.
45’ — The next 45 minutes are now here.
- Bayern’s visitors are going toe-to-toe with them, and they look more organized than the Bavarians.
- Rare L game from Lennart Karl so far. He’s never been this bad since he broke through. Harry Kane meanwhile is ghosting.
- Michael Olise and Luis Diaz combining to notch two goals is the output that Bayern needed badly from its wingers.
45+4’ — Halftime in this high energy match.
45’ — Three minutes added on.
30’ — TOR! Luis Diaz gets his goal! Konrad Laimer plays Michael Olise in on the right, and he works his magic to set up Diaz who heads the ball in the net!
29’ — Bayern on the backfoot and can’t get any control in this match. Worrying times.
13’ — Konrad Laimer misjudges a tackle and Wolfsburg equalize.
10’ — Diaz had a chance to put Bayern two goals up but mishits his shot and it goes wide.
5’ — TOR! Josip Stanišić threads a ball through to Luis Diaz, whose cross deflects off a Wolfsburg player and Michael Olise nudges Kilian Fischer in the six-yard box who turns the ball into his own net.
Kickoff! — Bayern is back, boys.
Lineups are out! The much awaited midfield partnership of Tom Bischof and Aleksandar Pavlović is finally here! Josip Stanišić also returns to the back four while Lennart Karl gets the nod at the 10.
Felipe Chavez and David Santos Daiber are among the players on Bayern’s bench today.
Nice little stat for you about Michael Olise:
Bayern Munich will resume the 2025/26 season by hosting Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The Bavarians remain untouchable in the league, continuing to show their dominance over the rest of the league. Wolfsburg on the other hand hasn’t fared well, sitting in 14th place with just three points separating them from St. Pauli in the relegation play-off spot.
Bayern will have to make do without Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich as either of them are not cleared to play in this match and the next one against Koln. Nevertheless, Vincent Kompany and his men will look to finish the job early and perhaps give precious minutes to promising academy players in the second half.

Bayern wins 4-1 with a brace from Harry Kane, and a goal apiece for Lennart Karl and let’s say a header from Jonathan Tah. Dzenan Pejcinovic will grab a consolation goal in the 84th minute.
