United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District has launched the Stronger Together Match Campaign, offering the community a chance to double their impact while supporting essential local programs during a period of growing uncertainty. A generous local donor has committed a seventy-five thousand dollar matching fund, meaning every dollar donated during the campaign will be matched until the full amount is reached. The donor’s gift was made with the goal of encouraging the community to come together and give at a time when support is especially needed.
As families and businesses across the region prepare for the months ahead, many households continue to rely on food programs, counselling services, senior supports, youth programs, and other community-based resources that provide stability and connection.
“When you give now, your donation is doubled,” said Rayna Evoy, Director of Development and Community Impact at United Way Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District. “This is a moment where a single gift can do twice the work, helping strengthen programs that families, seniors, and youth may rely on in the months ahead.”
Every dollar donated through the Stronger Together Match Campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, up to a total of seventy-five thousand dollars. All donations made during the campaign period will directly support United Way funded programs across the Algoma District.
“Our community has a long history of stepping up when it matters,” said Lori Huston, Executive Director of United Way Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District. “This campaign gives people a clear opportunity to make twice the difference at a time when local supports are more important than ever.”
United Way extends its sincere thanks to the local donor whose generosity made the matching fund possible.
The Stronger Together Match Campaign will continue until the seventy-five thousand dollar match is fully reached or until March 31. Donations can be made online at uwssmalgoma.ca or by calling the United Way office.
