SAN ANTONIO — Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a trash fire to spread at an apartment complex on the city’s East Side.

Firefighters were dispatched just after 2 p.m. Sunday to the 2900 block of Rigsby Avenue near Bonair Drive.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD), a trash fire spread to a small utility room that was in the process of being renovated.

Several residents reported seeing a group of minors who may have set the fire. Arson investigators were called to the scene to investigate these claims.
