2 hospitalized after stolen car crashes in Maryvale

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two women were hospitalized after crashing a stolen car into a pole in the Maryvale neighborhood of Phoenix on Friday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the single-car crash near 35th Avenue and Osborn Road, where a sedan was seriously damaged and came to a rest in the parking lot of a Circle K.

The driver and passenger both allegedly tried to run away but were detained and transported to a nearby hospital, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The car was stolen from a neighboring city.

Police have closed Osborn Road in both directions west of 35th Avenue as the investigation continues.
