The Author’s Modern Los Angeles Property Offers Sweeping Skyline Views

Los Angeles author E.L. James has listed her Hollywood Hills home for $7.25 million, returning the modern property to the market after reducing the asking price by $1 million, as reported as an exclusive by Realtor.com.

James, whose legal name is Erika Mitchell, purchased the residence in 2016 for $7.3 million, shortly after her “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy became a global publishing and film phenomenon. The home, completed the same year it was acquired, has not changed hands since.

Perched above West Hollywood in the Hollywood Hills, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house is designed to showcase sweeping views that extend from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean. The open-concept floor plan features stone and hardwood flooring, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the city skyline from nearly every room.

The home includes a technology-forward kitchen outfitted with lacquered wood cabinetry and Miele appliances. Entertainment spaces include a media lounge with surround sound, a wet bar, a fireplace, and a temperature-controlled wine room. Each bedroom is configured as an en suite, while the primary suite offers expansive private living quarters and access to outdoor terrace patios.

Outdoor amenities include a large swimming pool positioned to appear suspended above the hillside, along with a built-in grill and multiple areas designed for outdoor dining and entertaining. Additional features include parking for up to five vehicles and an elevator serving multiple levels of the home.

Property records show the land beneath the house last sold in 2013 for $662,500, before the construction of the residence.

The listing is held by Myra Nourmand of Nourmand & Associates.
