HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Deputies are investigating a double shooting after they say a husband and a wife were found dead in a west Harris County home on Monday.
At about 5:20 a.m., the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a home on Bent Springs Lane, where the pair was reportedly found dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said homicide detectives are looking into what happened, but said they’re investigating it as a possible murder-suicide or a double homicide.
According to the sheriff, a 7-year-old foster child, and an adult brother and sister in their 20s were also inside the home at the time.
“They were asleep and awakened by shots, and then they ran down and found both parents deceased inside the residence,” Gonzalez said.
The sheriff said the man and woman were found in different areas of the house, but not too far from each other. The couple, who deputies say were in their 50s, has not been identified.
Gonzalez said there were no immediate signs of forced entry, but said they are not ruling anything out.
“At this point, everything is under consideration,” Gonzalez said.
