SAFD was called to the Soap Factory Apartments, located at 500 North Santa Rosa, for a structure fire around 8:25 p.m. Monday.
SAN ANTONIO — For the second time in five days, San Antonio fire crews found themselves responding to flames at the Soap Factory Apartments downtown.
SAFD was called to 500 North Santa Rosa for a reported structure fire around 8:25 p.m. Monday. They arrived to “heavy fire on all three floors of a three-story vacant apartment building,” according to a department spokesperson.
No injuries were reported.
SAFD encountered structural issues at the building and began to pull some crews back after mounting an “aggressive interior attack on the fire.” Officials said they expected it to be an “extended event.”
As of 9:30 p.m., the department said they were primarily tending to remaining hotspots. A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Last Thursday, crews were called to the same apartment complex where they found significant fire on the second floor of a three-story vacant apartment building. Major fire damage was limited to only one apartment while no injuries were reported.
