North Texas has been the backdrop for much of the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit oil drama, Landman. Here’s a look at some of the season’s local ties before its 10th and final episode drops on Paramount+ on Jan. 18.
Fort Worth is featured prominently in the Season 2 premiere. Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, the landman of the show’s title, opens the episode smoking a cigarette in a rooftop bar at Ralph’s, a members-only club in the Crescent Hotel. Demi Moore’s Cami Miller later speaks at an oil-industry gathering at another hotel, the upscale Bowie House in the Fort Worth Cultural District. The Fort Worth Stockyards, Dickies Arena and Pioneer Tower all appear in an extended scene showing the Fort Worth cattle drive. And Texas Christian University gets an extended look, as Tommy’s ex-wife, Angela (Ali Larter), and their daughter, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), pay a visit to the campus.
A local newspaper makes an appearance, as Cami Miller’s assistant offers her a copy of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (she prefers to read the news online, she says). Fort Worth’s Margie’s Italian Gardens restaurant is shown in a scene featuring Billy Bob Thornton and Jacob Lofland, who plays his son, Cooper. Finally, Ainsley and Angela end up in handcuffs after an altercation with health inspectors at a retirement center; that scene was filmed at the Hilltop Park Rehabilitation and Care Center in Weatherford.

Cami meets cartel boss Gallino (Andy Garcia) at Fort Worth’s 61 Osteria, an Italian restaurant. In a scene filmed at Oakwood Cemetery near downtown Fort Worth, Cami brings flowers, a cigar and a bottle of whiskey to the grave of her husband, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). When Cami’s mansion is hitting the market, she tells her assistant to call Martha Williams, a real-life Fort Worth real-estate agent specializing in luxury properties.
Tommy and Cooper, dining at the fictional Patch Cafe, peruse the beer menu and note that one of the offerings is Eight, a beer owned by former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman. “I might have to try that just out of respect,” Tommy says. Downtown Fort Worth and Cattlemen’s Steak House also make appearances.
Country musician Vincent Neil Emerson, who has lived in Fort Worth, has his song “Hang Your Head Down Low” play over a montage of scenes from a bustling oil convention. Cooper and Angela later discuss buying an engagement ring for Cooper’s girlfriend, Ariana (Paulina Chávez). Angela at first suggests a trip to North Texas jewelers Bachendorf’s and Sue Gragg before offering her own ring. Later, Tommy and his father, T.L. (Sam Elliott), visit the Fort Worth Stockyards and talk about the cattle drive before Tommy meets Cami and Gallino at the city’s W.R. Watt Arena.

“Drink Don’t Need No Mix,” a 2024 song from Shaboozey featuring Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug, plays over a scene of oil rig workers gathered to celebrate the 20th work anniversary of Boss (Mustafa Speaks) with M-Tex Oil. Ainsley later unveils her dream wedding scenario: “Wedding’s gonna be at St. Andrew’s in downtown Fort Worth, the reception at the barn at Circle T Ranch. You and Daddy need to start making friends with Ross Perot Jr. cause it is real expensive.”
The always-resourceful Tommy hires a dancer at the Fort Worth adult club Rick’s Cabaret to be his father’s physical therapist, noting that she must be flexible in her line of work. After a clash with her roommate, Ainsley leaves the dorm for a week at Fort Worth’s Bowie House hotel.
