Houston’s weather takes a wet turn this week.
HHouston

Houston’s weather takes a wet turn this week.

  • June 22, 2025

Today’s forecast:

Did you enjoy yesterday’s weather? Well, brace for a repeat today, but with a heightened chance of isolated thunderstorms this afternoon into evening! Sunshine lovers, soak up today’s rays, as wetter weather looms ahead.

Feels like temperatures reach the triple digits Sunday

Right now, we’re tracking partly cloudy skies with a mix of sun and scattered clouds. We’re tracking a 20% for isolated thunderstorms for some not all afternoon into the evening. Nothing too dramatic, but enough that you might need to use your windshield wipers today.

More rain is headed our way:

The reason rain chances increase is due to high pressure moving east away from Texas. Without the high pressure, there will be no sinking air to dry out the atmosphere. Instead, a return of moisture from the Gulf moves in.

High pressure moves east next week

The dry air will be focused across the eastern half of the country, leading to record-breaking temperatures in the northeast.

Midwest to the Northeast will see record challenging temperatures as High Pressure moves in next week.Tracking the tropics:

The National Hurricane Center is not watching any regions in the Atlantic Basin for tropical development over the next seven days. Saharan dust continues to dominate the open waters, helping us stay hurricane-free.

No development is expected in the next seven days. (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)Your 10-Day Forecast:

We’re tracking a slight cool-down—upper 80s to low 90s with warm morning lows—and isolated to scattered showers through Friday, peaking Tuesday and Wednesday.
