A seven-story, 315-unit apartment building near Scottsdale and Bell roads was approved by the Phoenix City Council last week.
Mayor Kate Gallego took notice of the lack of opposition to the development ahead of the vote at the Jan. 7 city council meeting to approve a general plan amendment and zoning change to allow for the development.
“We have only the applicant here today in favor, which is actually an impressive achievement for folks who have followed this part of our city. This is a lot civically engaged individuals,” Gallego said.
