CO+HOOTS Coworking, Arizona’s first coworking company and one of the state’s most recognizable entrepreneurial hubs, has entered a new chapter with a transition to local ownership, reinforcing its mission-driven roots and long-standing commitment to community.
With locations in Mesa and Phoenix, the 16-year-old operation is now in the hands of a new owner and CEO, former CO+HOOTS managing director Jaime Munoz.
Founding partners Jenny Poon and Odeen Domingo have moved into board roles.
The sale to Munoz, a Phoenix-based leader who has played a central role in the organization’s recent growth, “reflects CO+HOOTS’ emphasis on cultivating leadership from within and investing in people who are deeply connected to its purpose,” according to an announcement.
“CO+HOOTS has always belonged to the community,” Poon said. “After almost two decades, it’s the right time to pass the torch, celebrate what we built together, and open the door to another chapter of meaning, purpose and possibility.
“This transition isn’t a final, forever goodbye – it’s a celebration of what’s possible when people build something bigger than themselves.”
Domingo, who stepped down from his CEO role, expressed full confidence in Munoz’s ability to guide the organization forward.
“Jaime genuinely cares as deeply as we do about what we do, how we do it, what CO+HOOTS stands for and what this community means,” Domingo said. “He’s already been central to our success these last few years, and our confidence in him to take CO+HOOTS to new heights is absolute.”
CO+HOOTS provides collaboration-focused office environments for startups, small businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs and remote professionals.
Since its founding, the organization has grown from a self-funded experiment into a significant local economic driver, supporting more than 10,000 entrepreneurs and professionals and helping foster an estimated 5,000 jobs and new businesses across Arizona.
Under Munoz’s leadership, the company plans to maintain its culture of inclusivity and connection while continuing to serve as a hub for innovation.
“People don’t need another place to feel isolated – they need genuine community,” Munoz said. “CO+HOOTS remains a space where anyone can walk in, feel welcomed and be safe enough to launch, scale or even fail. Above all, this is a place where people feel seen, heard and connected.”
Founded as Arizona’s first coworking company in 2016, CO+HOOTS has earned national and global recognition for its collaborative model and community impact.
With its new ownership structure, leaders say the organization is positioned to carry forward its values while continuing to adapt to the evolving needs of the modern workforce.
