A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday after crashing into a wall at a freeway exchange in downtown Los Angeles.

The crash was reported at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The California Highway Patrol responded to the transition road from the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway to the northbound Pasadena (110) Freeway, where they found the victim, CHP Officer Erik Larsen told City News Service.

According to reports from the scene, CHP officers found the victim’s motorcycle blocking the middle lanes of the 110 Freeway.

The victim, whose name, gender and age were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, Larsen said.
