SAN ANTONIO, Tx — After a video surfaced showing an alleged migrant ramming his car into ICE agent vehicles in a Walmart parking lot near Blanco and Wurzbach, civil rights advocates are questioning how ICE chooses who to stop and question.
Alex Svehla, the head organizer of 50501 San Antonio is concerned about how federal officials are going.
“It shows how ICE is operating currently,” Svehla said. “They’re not going through legal processes such as obtaining warrants or bringing people to court. They instead opt to just kidnap people off the street.”
While speaking on FOX’s Hannity, Todd Lyons, the director of ICE claims their operation is legal, and their agents are the ones being put at risk.
“It’s constant impediments, constant attacks like this,” Lyons said. “It’s not safe for my folks. It’s not safe for the public.”
The identity of the alleged migrant in the video has not been released.
