Samsung was not shy with its Galaxy S25 discounts in 2025, slashing the price of its flagship phone by hundreds of dollars repeatedly as it sought to steal customers away from the popular iPhone 17. According to leaked sales data, that strategy may have paid off.
Ice Universe Shares Sales Data for Galaxy S25 and Other Galaxy S Phones
Reliable tipster Ice Universe shared a graph depicting 12-month sales data from the last five Galaxy S releases. Between the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S24, the sales figures are as you would expect: a strong spike at launch followed by a continual decline over the next 12 months.
However, the Galaxy S25 bucks that trend, showing a rise in sales from month seven onward and peaking sharply at month nine, where sales were almost as high as they were at launch.

The data comes from Counterpoint Research and Hana Financial Investment, though neither appears to have shared the report publicly. This is not the first time we’ve seen strong sales data for the Galaxy S25 series, though. In August, Ice Universe shared numbers showing a 12.2% increase for the Galaxy S25 range over the Galaxy S24 series. Recent Counterpoint research also revealed Samsung’s shipments are up 5.5% year-on-year, driven by the Galaxy A series and the Galaxy S25, with sales volumes increasing by 6% and 14%, respectively.
What caused late the spike in sales for the Galaxy S25? The November timing is a huge clue.
Samsung’s Aggressive Galaxy S25 Pricing Strategy
Samsung dropped the price of the Galaxy S25 Ultra 512GB last Black Friday (November) to $859.99—the lowest it had ever been and the lowest it has been since. A sub-$900 Samsung flagship with the second-highest memory option is rare, even for Samsung’s typical aggressive discount strategy. That deal included a massive $440 discount on the phone.
That wasn’t the only promotion; Samsung knocked hundreds off the Galaxy S25 Edge in November. Elsewhere, the Korean company bundled free laptops and tablets with the Galaxy S25, or gave away free Galaxy S25 handsets with select TV purchases. All of this occurred alongside repeated and deep discounts for the main Galaxy S25 series around the iPhone 17 launch. According to Ice Universe’s leaked report, the move clearly paid off for the Korean company.
