ARLINGTON – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Angell. Born on April 9, 1937, he lived a long and joyous life until his peaceful departure on January 11, 2026, at 88 years old. The following services will be held for family and friends to come together to reminisce and say their goodbyes. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, located at 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 12 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, located at 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. A hardworking man his entire life with simple tastes, Jim was particularly fond of Tamales and Hot Links. He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, western movies, NASCAR and the Texas Rangers. He also enjoyed grilling some excellent ribs in his earlier years and passed that on to his son, David Owens. An embodiment of a loving father, his children learned from him how to be productive, hard-working adults. Jim’s legacy will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends and resonate through the lives of those he has touched. We remember him with love and miss him dearly. Jim is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Angell; stepchildren, Deborah Cunningham, Vicki Brignon and husband, Lee, Benny King, Bill Owens and wife, Marilyn, and David Owens and wife, Holly; as well as many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Despite his passing, his teachings and memories will live on in them. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cora “Fran” Angell; father, Thomas Angell; mother, Edna Blanch Angell; sisters; Marjorie Enns and Arlice Lawson; and his brother, Thomas “Buddy” Angell.
