PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A woman has died after being hit by a car in north Phoenix on Thursday morning.
Police released Friday her name as 50-year-old Jennifer Stitt.
Police said the driver was stopped at a red light on Deer Valley Road near 26th Avenue, just west of Interstate 17, and once it changed, started heading west just before 6 a.m. That’s when Stitt stepped out in front of the driver, police said.
Police said the driver involved called 911. Stitt was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Police said the driver stayed on the scene and impairment is not a factor.
