Jacksonville ties record low of 22 degrees set 99 years ago. Here’s what you can expect this weekend

  • January 17, 2026

Freeze Watch issued for Sunday night-Monday morning

Freeze Warning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The temperatures are warming up after a morning record-tying low of 22 degrees. The record was 99 years old, set in 1927.

Here’s a list of the lows from Friday morning from the National Weather Service.

Saturday warms even more, closer to 70! before temperatures fall once again behind another cold front Sunday morning.

The possibility of flurries has moved more to the north of Waycross, but can’t rule out the chance of some falling flakes into Ware and Brantley counties.

A Freeze Watch has been issued for Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida beginning Sunday night through Monday at 9 a.m. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-20s. Lingering wet roads and lawns could freeze, as well.

Freeze Watch

Otherwise, cold air sticks around through the beginning of the week, with additional hard freezes expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
