Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge) and Caleb Jonte Edwards (Black Snow) have landed roles in the fourth season of The White Lotus, the Emmy-winning HBO series from Mike White.
Character details are under wraps as is the logline for this season, as per usual for one of the most high-profile shows on the air. As previously announced, Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka are also set to star. Deadline was first to report on Helena Bonham Carter’s negotiations to join the cast, though the network has not confirmed her involvement. On Thursday, we told you that Chris Messina is also in early talks for a role.
A dark comedy examining the dynamics between employees and guests at luxury hotels around the world, The White Lotus‘ new season will follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week. Following seasons in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand, this one will take place in France, with Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez as the central location.
The White Lotus is created, written and directed by White, who exec produces alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
Coogan is a two-time Oscar nominee who has most recently been seen starring in series like How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge) — based on his long-running character — and The Sandman. Upcoming, he also has the Netflix crime thriller series Legends as well as Michael Cera’s directorial debut Love Is Not the Answer. He is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group.
A virtual unknown, Edwards’ biggest credit to date is a guest role on the Stan original series Black Snow. He is represented by Echo Lake Entertainment and Eaton Management.
