Mild MLK weekend ahead for Phoenix with cooler temps late next week

  • January 18, 2026

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The mild weather continues into Sunday with some slightly cooler weather by the end of next week.

Mostly clear skies this evening with some clouds moving in overnight. Sunday morning lows will drop into the upper 40s, with highs rising to 76 degrees in the afternoon. The normal high temperature for Sunday is 68 degrees. There will be a few more clouds around on Sunday compared to the sunny skies that we had on Saturday.

The mild streak continues through MLK Day (Monday) and Wednesday, with highs in the mid-70s. A slight cool-down arrives Thursday and Friday with highs in the low to mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. Next weekend will be just above normal with highs in the low 70s.

In the high country, localized wind gusts will continue this evening. Expected above-normal temperatures for Sunday with lighter winds. This week will remain dry with a possible pattern change by the end of next week into next weekend. However, there is not much confidence that this pattern change will bring a chance of rain, so stay tuned.
