Chicago Ike crash: Mona V. Sims ID'd as Bellwood woman killed on I-290 Eisenhower Expressway near Oak Park, IL, officials say

OAK PARK, Ill. (WLS) — A woman from the west suburbs was identified as the victim of a deadly crash on the Eisenhower Expressway.

The crash happened on Sunday at about 2:53 a.m. on the westbound lanes of I-290 were closed near Harlem Avenue, ISP said.

ISP said the crashed involved a Jeep and a Saturn car.

Police said a woman was ejected from their vehicle and died at the scene.

She was identified as Mona V. Sims, 55 of Bellwood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

A second person was taken to an area hospital with injuries.
