A pair of Hall of Famers will now join the Milwaukee Brewers Wall of Honor this year, the team announced Jan. 20.
CC Sabathia and Dave Parker, who were both inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, last summer, will be honored by the Brewers on Friday, May 8, when Milwaukee hosts the Yankees. Sabathia spent 11 seasons with New York after leaving the Brewers in free agency.

According to the Brewers, the Wall of Honor “is a distinction awarded to players, coaches and executives who meet a set of criteria based on service to the organization and career accomplishments.” Players are commemorated with a plaque affixed to the exterior of American Family Field.
Sabathia spent just half a season with Milwaukee in 2008 but was one of the most impactful trade-deadline additions in baseball history. After coming over from Cleveland in early July, he went 11-2 with a 1.65 earned run average in 17 starts, seven of which were complete games and three that were shutouts. He famously pitched the Brewers into the playoffs for the first time in 26 years with a complete-game victory on the final day of the regular season.
Parker spent just one season with the Brewers in 1990 but was the team’s lone all-star representative that year as he hit .289 with 21 home runs and 92 runs batted in. Parker passed away last June at age 74 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
