2 19-year-olds charged in McDonald’s shooting that left man critically injured

  • January 21, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two 19-year-old employees were arrested after a fight with a co-worker escalated into a shooting at the Oceanway McDonald’s on North Main Street, according to an arrest report obtained by News4JAX.

The report said Malik McKinnon, Malachi McKinnon and Altron “Tron” Wheaton were involved in an altercation after Wheaton told Malik to “go home” on Saturday.

Police said another co-worker, DeAngelo Johnson, stepped in and, at one point, fell to the ground.

The redacted report did not include details about what led to the shooting, but police said Johnson was shot in the neck and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police later said he was stable Saturday night.

Malik McKinnon was charged with second-degree murder and carrying a concealed firearm. Malachi McKinnon was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and altering, destroying, concealing or removing records.
