A man wanted in connection with the stabbing of an 18-year-old woman in Melbourne’s inner suburbs early today has been found dead in the state’s north-west.
Detectives were searching for the Camberwell man after the woman was badly injured in the stabbing outside a home on Miller Grove in Kew about 1am.
His body was found about five hours later by police in Antwerp, east of Nhill in the Wimmera region, after a Triple Zero (000) call.
The circumstances of the death are unclear, but police say they are not treating it as suspicious.

Police were told the Kew woman was confronted and stabbed by a man she knew after a night out with friends.
Paramedics say she was treated for upper and mid-body injuries and taken to hospital in a serious condition with injuries initially thought to be life-threatening.
Police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
Investigations are continuing and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
