Before Arsenal’s trip to San Siro to face Inter Milan, it emerged that the Gunners are interested in signing Federico Dimarco.
When it comes to perfecting the art of a wing-back, Dimarco ticks every box, being an explosive attacker and a strong defender.
It’s no surprise that Arsenal have been linked to Dimarco, who is out of contract at Inter next summer.
The Italian has been associated with Inter since childhood, so prying him away wouldn’t be easy, but the win over the Nerazzurri might’ve shifted his perspective ever so slightly.

Federico Dimarco shares his honest opinion of Arsenal
Gone are the days when Arsenal were seen as a stepping stone on the way to a final destination, as now, the Gunners are the team to beat.
It helped Mikel Arteta recruit some top players in the summer, and it might just have Dimarco thinking about whether he could fit into the Arsenal squad.
After Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Inter at San Siro, the Italy international made it clear that he rates the North Londoners very highly.
“We were up against a very strong side, who are top of the Premier League and the Champions League. We were aware of their quality, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out,” he said, as per Inter Milan’s official website.
Unsurprisingly, Dimarco’s praise for Arsenal turned to set-pieces, as Arteta’s side scored their 25th set-piece goal of the season.
“The goal from the corner? I’m not sure exactly how many they’ve scored like that over the years under Arteta; it’s something they regularly refine.
“We were also unlucky: the ball hit the crossbar and bounced onto their player’s head.”
Dimarco suggested that what Arsenal do from set-play is almost mystical, which is a fair assessment, as even the second-best defence in Europe couldn’t keep Nicolas Jover’s tactics out.
If you could send Nicolas Jover a message, what would you say?

How Dimarco performed on his potential Arsenal audition
It was a tough evening for Inter, and Dimarco, who was kept busy by Bukayo Saka.
Saka had a very impressive night at San Siro, troubling Inter’s defence whenever he had the ball, but, on the same flank, so did Dimarco to an extent.
Federico Dimarco vs Arsenal – Sofascore data
In attack, Dimarco was relentless, and when it came to defending, he pulled his weight; it just wasn’t enough to keep the Gunners out.
Whether Arteta and Andrea Berta were won over has yet to be determined, something we could discover in the summer.
