The footage, captured off Orange County by Erica Page, is a reminder that sea lions are powerful and voracious, and that sharks are not always apex predators.
This type of event, while rarely witnessed, has been documented multiple times over the years by Southern California boaters.
Page’s footage appears to have been captured less than a mile from shore.
