FORT WORTH – Jerry McKinney passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Graveside Service: 1 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, in Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Jerry was born in Kilgore, Texas, to John D. and Victory Peace McKinney. He graduated from West Rusk High School and continued his education at North Texas State College (University of North Texas). After graduating from college, he began working at General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin), working on F16, F-22 and JSF projects. Jerry was a very special person. He loved his family, being outdoors, camping, especially with his son’s Boy Scout Troop. He was a devoted TCU football fan and enjoyed helping others. Prior to his illness he was actively involved in his church, participating in Bible Study groups, home group and volunteering where needed. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Matthew McKinney; sister, Valerie Childress and her husband, Johnny of Arp, Texas; as well as extended family and friends.
