A downtown Dallas municipal court building will remain closed until at least July 16 after every floor was affected by water damage from stormy weather Tuesday, city officials said.
Court will reset all trials and notify residents by mail of their new court date, according to a Wednesday news release.
Courts in the building, located at 2014 Main St., handle Class C misdemeanors, code violations and traffic citations.
Court clerk lobby services — such as in-person payments, scheduling court dates and payment arrangements — will also be temporarily conducted at the Dallas Marshal’s Office, according to the news release. It said court staff will be working at this venue, located at 1600 Chestnut Street, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Thunderstorms brought heavy rain to some parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
