WEATHERFORD – Genaro Garcia III, 65, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at his home in Weatherford, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Genaro, also known as Geno, was born on February 13, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, but later moved to Weatherford, Texas, with his beloved wife and family. He regularly attended Spring Creek Baptist Church until his health began to decline, but he always made sure to continue praying. He attended the University of North Texas and worked at the Union Pacific Railroad for 10 years. He also proudly owned his own mobile sound business and was a DJ. Genaro was the life of the party! He had the honor of DJing at the Cowboys’ Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys. He loved karaoke and had a great voice. He also enjoyed riding his bike, which was more than a hobby to him, but a way to clear his mind and feel at peace. However, more than anything, he loved his grandbabies and was a proud pawpaw. He often joked that he loved his grandchildren more than his own children because of how much joy and love they brought into his life. He was a mischievous jokester whose humor reminded everyone not to take life too seriously. Genaro was preceded in death by his parents, Genaro and Josephine Garcia II, affectionately known as Jerry and Josie; and brother, Gary Garcia. Genaro is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Garcia; grandchildren, Bryce and Vidahlia Collins, and Aspen Martin; son, Ryan Garcia and his wife, Victoria Garcia; daughter, Amberlea Garcia; son, Nicholas Garcia; daughter, Audriana Garcia; sister, Melody Garcia and her husband, Manuel Garcia; brother, Chris Garcia and his wife, Melody Johnson-Garcia; his sister-in-law, Yolanda Garcia, who was married to his late brother, Gary Garcia; and many other treasured relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas, 76107, in the new Reception Center, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 2:30 p.m. in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; with an interment following at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2301 N Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth, Texas, 76111.
