Several organizations distribute free food and meals weekly across North Texas, and with a winter storm on the way, the deliveries they make are all-the-more important for thousands of families in Dallas-Fort Worth.

North Texas Food Bank, Catholic Charities of Dallas, Dallas College, and the University of North Texas are among the organizations providing food that can be picked up churches, schools, community centers and other D-FW locations.

Here’s a look at some of the places where food will be distributed before the winter storm.

The food bank provides food to churches, schools, and community centers in several cities, in conjunction with local organizations.

Some deliveries are made through mobile food pantries, while other locations are set and offer food on a regular basis. A list of locations can be found at this link: https://ntfb.org/food-assistance/find-a-food-pantry/.

For mobile pantries, the NTFB collaborates with other organizations. Although in some places they have regular stops, others occur more sporadically.

North Texas Food Bank publishes its delivery schedule each week, but events such as severe weather can affect operations. Ensure you check for updates on the food bank’s website.

Catholic Charities

One of the organizations that works with North Texas Food Banks is Catholic Charities, which delivers fixed and mobile pantries, providing fresh food.

Families receiving government benefits such as SNAP, TANF, SSI, NSLP, Medicare, and Medicaid are eligible for assistance, although proof of eligibility is not required. Only identification is needed to receive food baskets.

Once you become a Catholic Charities client, you can receive food assistance once a month.

The latest updates on the location of mobile pantries in North Texas can be found on this website: ccdallas.org/services/food-services/.
