Significant winter storm possible Sunday in Vermont, New York

Snow showers and squalls through Friday usher in the most intense cold in years.Wind chills drop to -30 to -45° Saturday morning, when frostbite can develop on exposed skin in just minutes.A major winter storm impacting much of the country will arrive locally Sunday afternoon and evening, dropping powder snow all of Sunday night.4-8″ is expected along the border with Canada, with 8-12″ in much of southern and central Vermont, and 12″+ along the Massachusetts border. Snow showers and squalls through Friday usher in the most intense cold in years.

Wind chills drop to -30 to -45° Saturday morning, when frostbite can develop on exposed skin in just minutes.

A major winter storm impacting much of the country will arrive locally Sunday afternoon and evening, dropping powder snow all of Sunday night.

4-8″ is expected along the border with Canada, with 8-12″ in much of southern and central Vermont, and 12″+ along the Massachusetts border.

Lighter snow or just snow showers will linger on Monday.
