HOUSTON – As freezing temperatures and icy conditions move into the Houston area, METRO says it is taking steps to keep riders and employees safe while maintaining readiness across the transit system.
METRO maintenance and safety crews have implemented winterization measures, including anti-icing treatments on HOV lanes, rail platforms, and at transit centers. Officials say staffing and operational resources are in place to support emergency coordination and allow for quick response as conditions change.
Planned METRO service adjustmentsSaturday, Jan. 24
-
METRORail trains will operate on regular weekend schedules.

METRORail trains will operate at reduced frequency.
-
All other transit services will remain suspended due to the high likelihood of icy road conditions.
