Forget The Cottage. Miss B’s Coconut Club is the place for “Heated Rivalry” fans to be in San Diego for the next few months.
The self-described “laid-back hangout” bar in Mission Beach is hosting not one, but five trivia nights to celebrate the spicy new HBO series. Each time it posts another date, it quickly sells out, leading Miss B’s to just keep adding more. The trivia nights kick off on Jan. 29 and continue through March 15.
“More mocktails. More chaos. More hockey boy tension,” said an Instagram post from the restaurant.
“Heated Rivalry,” which started on Canada’s Crave streaming platform and quickly became its most-watched series ever, hit HBO Max on Nov. 28. Since then, fans have been looking for more ways to dive into their obsession over the love story between fictional hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
The actors who play those characters, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, have rocketed to fame, even getting asked to run the Olympic torch for the Milan Cortina Games in February.

Here in San Diego, Miss B’s, which is not new to hosting pop culture-themed activities, is teaming up with Mocktail and Mingle for the trivia nights.
General Manager Eddie Jurado said the restaurant has never seen a response quite like this for one of these events.
“Nothing even remotely like this,” Jurado said.
Though the series is based on a 2019 book by Rachel Reid, the questions during the competition will be based on the show only. Fans can order custom mocktails (or cocktails) and will compete as teams of four for prizes.
The staff at Miss B’s is thrilled at the response, especially during a slower time of year for the restaurant.
“We just want to make sure people are having fun,” Jurado said. “We’re excited.”
And for those who still want to get involved, he said to keep an eye out for a sixth date for “Heated Rivalry” trivia to be announced.
Also coming up in San Diego, fans can attend a “Heated RivalRave” at the The Observatory North Park on Feb. 6.
