Manchester United have sanctioned a loan move for one of the club’s most exciting teenagers, and now the deal has been confirmed.

This season will see Manchester United play the fewest possible games, having been knocked out of the cup at the earliest possible stage and having no European football.

The result is a lack of games, and therefore, Michael Carrick doesn’t need a big squad to conclude the remaining 16 games of his tenure, or this season.

As a result, youngsters on the cusp of the first team are set for a loan instead; this is the case with Sekou Kone potentially joining Lausanne as he vies to perform to a level that he gets opportunities in pre-season.

It will also be a massive four months for a player who has now had his loan confirmed.

Now, Norwich City have confirmed the deal ahead of their Championship clash on Monday night, which Amass will be eligible for.

The Championship side confirmed this on their club website, with sporting director Ben Knapper commenting on the deal going through.

“We’re delighted to welcome Harry to the football club.

“Whilst still in the very early stages of his journey in the professional game, his talent was evident for all to see during the first half of the season, throughout an impressive loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.

“He has shown he is clearly ready to compete, and excel, at this level, and he’ll add quality and strengthen the left-back position for us.

“He’s fit and ready to go, and we’re looking forward to him helping the group and contributing to moving the club up the table for the remainder of the season.”

This move is an upgraded loan from where Amass won back-to-back player of the month awards with Sheffield Wednesday.

Harry Amass excited after loan from Manchester United to Norwich

Norwich are a Championship side on the up, and if this continues, Amass might actually find himself playing in a promotion charge.

Amass has been given the number two shirt, which demonstrates the club’s plan to use him as an important player.

Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Amass explained his excitement over the deal.

“I’ve spoken with Ben and the gaffer. They’ve both told me that they’ve been watching me since Sheffield Wednesday and a bit before that, and they’ve liked what they’ve seen.

“They like the way that I carry the ball, the way that I am on the ball, the hard work that I show. They spoke to me and said they see that I can do good things here, they believe that it’ll be a benefit for the club and for me, so it should be good both ways.”
