Police and the community are urgently searching for a 12-year-old boy who went missing from a beach in Victoria’s east on Sunday afternoon.
Victoria Police say Danny was last seen swimming in waters off Number Four Beach Road in Venus Bay before his family lost sight of him shortly before midday.
Emergency services were notified shortly after 1pm sparking a large-scale search involving Victoria Police’s Air Wing, Water Police Squad, Coast Guard, the SES Life Saving Victoria and other beachgoers.
The boy, from Taylors Hill in Melbourne’s north-west, was wearing a navy rash top and navy blue shorts with a white stripe, police said.
He is described as roughly 170 centimetres tall with a thin build, dark short hair and dark eyes.
Sunday’s search was planned to continue until last light and recommence on Monday morning.
