A second man has been charged with murder following the shooting of a man in Newcastle earlier this year.

Ekampreet Sahni Singh, 18, was found with a gunshot wound at Bar Beach car park in Newcastle at about 11:40pm on April 23.

Paramedics treated Mr Sahni but he died at the scene.

Police allege a group of people were fighting in the car park when a white SUV drove up and an armed man got out, fired a gun, and left in the vehicle.

The SUV was found ablaze about 20 minutes later in the nearby suburb Tingira Heights.
