Appearing on the latest Post Moves podcast with Aliyah Boston and Candace Parker, Plum revealed the inside story of her “popcorn incident” at a Final Four game between Paige Bueckers’ UConn Huskies and Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes nearly two years ago.
“The only reason this happened was because the camera guy kept coming back, and I’m like, ‘What are you coming back for?’ Plum said.

Plum, a two-time WNBA champion who won the Wooden Award during her NCAA career at Washington, made an assortment of faces to the camera as she munched on a bucket of popcorn. Only later did she realize that fans online had “cooked” her over the antics.

“I ruined it for white women after this,” the Los Angeles Sparks guard humorously told Parker and Boston.
The original video has over 110 million views on X. Fans probably won’t ever let her forget about it.
