The U.S. women’s national team closed out their January camp with another lopsided win, this time a 5-0 win over Chile on Tuesday that showcased the skills of the rising talents in the player pool.

While the USWNT had to wait until first half stoppage time for their opening goal of their 6-0 win over Paraguay on Saturday, Croix Bethune opened the scoring in the 18th minute to give the U.S. an early advantage with her first international goal. She was not the only one to notch her first USWNT goal – first half goalscorers Jameese Joseph and Emily Sams also did, the group combining to give the hosts a 3-0 lead at the break.

Emma Sears kept the momentum going with the USWNT’s fourth goal just 28 seconds into the second half, finally finding the back of the net after hitting the post twice in the first half. The scoring was rounded out by Trinity Rodman, who came on as a substitute and celebrated her latest international goal by dancing with head coach Emma Hayes.

Hayes used Tuesday’s game to offer opportunities to younger players, to the point that the lineup was the least experienced group of starters the USWNT had in the last 25 years with an average of 5.2 caps per player. The coach used this camp to further assess the player pool and decide which players would theoretically be ready to go for the 2027 Women’s World Cup or the 2028 Olympics, should they be called upon, and which ones will be considered further down the road.

The USWNT next return to play in March for the SheBelieves Cup, during which they will face Argentina, Canada and Colombia.
