New Jacksonville health center to bring expanded services, welcome patients regardless of insurance

  • January 28, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville health center is expanding its reach to treat more people, especially those who do not have insurance.

The Duval Family Health Center is opening Wednesday morning at Sulzbacher Village on Springfield Boulevard.

In the past, that clinic used to only provide services to kids and teenagers. But now, those healthcare services are expanding to anyone — no matter their age. Moreover, anyone can be treated, no matter their health insurance status.

According to Sulzbacher, the new Duval Family Health Center will provide a variety of services, including internal medicine, dental, vision and behavioral health.

The Duval Family Health Center is a federally qualified health center that accepts all forms of insurance and welcomes those without insurance.

No one is turned away due to inability to pay.

The timing of this move is convenient, as some Affordable Care Act enrollees have seen their premium prices spike as Congress has been locked in debate for months over the fate of the federal ACA tax credits.

The City of Jacksonville just wrapped up enrollment for its “Get Covered Jax” campaign, which is the effort to get people insurance coverage.

Since that campaign started in 2023, the city said there were close to 185,000 Duval County residents on ACA plans by the end of 2025. The city said that there’s an increase of more than 70,000.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new health center starts at 8:30 a.m.

Groceries will also be given away to the first 100 families who show up.
