Adams was injured in the fourth quarter of Houston’s win over the Pelicans on January 18. He originally left the game after landing awkwardly during a shooting contest at the rim, which was elevated to a Grade 3 sprain.

The Rockets said Adams is expected to make a full recovery following the procedure. The 32-year-old averaged 5.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 22.8 minutes over 32 games in his second season with Houston.

The 32-year-old is from Rotorua, New Zealand. He was selected 12th overall in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder after playing for Pittsburgh.
