Bill Bellamy first came to prominence on Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam on HBO and as a frequent presence on MTV, where he served as a VJ and hosted several shows, including MTV Beach House and MTV Jams. He has also appeared in films including Love Jones, The Brothers, How to Be a Player and Any Given Sunday. For his standup act, Bellamy blends conversational storytelling with observational humor, often drawing on his background in music and pop culture. His run of 18-and-up shows in Addison will offer a shot of nostalgia for members of the MTV generation.

GROUNDHOG DAY CELEBRATION

FREE This family-friendly celebration returns to Frisco’s Kaleidoscope Park for its second year, with lawn games, activities, food vendors and more. Hands-on arts and crafts stations will let guests create Groundhog Day-themed keepsakes, including groundhog masks. New this year, the park is introducing what it calls a “Texas groundhog,” with an appearance by a live armadillo. Guests can snap armadillo selfies as well as photos with Kaleidoscope Karla, the park’s groundhog mascot. Visitors are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the celebration by dressing in Groundhog Day- or Texas-inspired attire, from top hats to cowboy hats.

The cult comedy hit Napoleon Dynamite had its theatrical release in the United States in June 2004. But we’re celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary in 2026, because, well, why not? Maybe Napoleon was busy eating tater tots during math class. Jon Heder, who played the socially awkward title character, will attend this special screening and take part in a post-film discussion, along with castmates Efren Ramirez (Pedro) and Jon Gries (Uncle Rico). They’ll tell behind-the-scenes stories, answer questions from fans and have a meet-and-greet with VIP ticket holders before the show.

Back for its third year, this local awards ceremony will honor some of the stalwarts of the North Texas music scene. Categories include Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, with nominees including Cure for Paranoia, Joshua Ray Walker, Winos, Remy Reilly and many other local favorites. The 18-and-up awards ceremony is the main event, but a Feb. 1 meet-and-greet showcase is also on the agenda, featuring performances by Smokey Mirror, Coach Tev, the Blue Line, Alex Irish, the Plum Boys and more. Stan’s Blue Note is turning up the heat for “Great Bowls of Fire,” its 14th annual chili cook-off. Chili chefs from across North Texas will bring their best bowls and boldest flavors to compete for cash prizes and bragging rights. LAST CHANCE If your New Year’s resolution was to watch more pro wrestling, then you’re in luck. All Elite Wrestling has brought its AEW: Collision series to Arlington for a monthlong residency, with four of January’s five Saturdays featuring shows at Esports Stadium Arlington.
