A driver was ejected from his vehicle during a crash in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday morning.
The crash occurred shortly before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Aramingo Avenue and Orthodox Street. A 53-year-old man was driving a red Toyota Matrix southbound on Aramingo when he lost control of the car and fishtailed into the northbound lanes, police said.
At the same time, a 31-year-old man was driving a white 2009 Nissan Maxima northbound on Aramingo and struck the passenger side of the Toyota.
The impact caused the Toyota to spin and flip onto its side, ejecting the 53-year-old driver onto the road. The 53-year-old man suffered a head injury and was taken by medics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The 31-year-old man was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Division is investigating the incident. No charges have been filed.
